Day 5 (May 18): While John took on a morning hike, I enjoyed a bit more reading. Once we broke camp, we made our way to the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and marveled at the icebergs.

From Jökulsárlón, we continued our counter-clockwise drive around Iceland’s beautiful southeast coast, including a moody view of Búlandstindur.

After a stop by Nykurylsfoss, we drove up the hill to the Fossardalur Campsite, which Javi had recommended. John and I agree, this was a great recommendation. Great site, hiking trails to waterfalls, and the sounds of the river all night long.
